The Suburban Soapbox

In December, I subscribed to a service called CraveBox.  For only $10 a month, I get a box full of goodies delivered straight to my mailbox and it is jam packed with fun things to sample.

I will admit, I’m a little slow at posting about my personal treasure chest because I’m now waiting for my third CraveBox and I still haven’t even told everyone what was in the first!  My apologies.

The December CraveBox was filled with the following items:

Mereadesso Body Balm

Two packs fo Bic For Her Pens

Perugina Milk Chocolate Bar

OPI Nic’s Stick

Baci Hazlenut Truffles

I have never heard of this brand of Body Balm before so I looked it up online to see what it was all about. Mereadesso Beautiful Body Balm promised to be “a high performance, non-greasy, all over body balm, hand moisturizer and foot cream for men and women of all ages and skin types.”  And at a retail value of $54, I had VERY high expectations.

I tried the lotion, daily, only on my legs since they are the area I tend to have issues with in the winter.  I will say that the body balm is very good, not greasy, as they promised, and did the trick.  It’s not as thick as other balms I’ve used and the container is very rigid which makes it tricky to get every.last.drop out of the tube.  At $54, I probably would not buy it as I’ve used other lotions that lasted longer and cost less.  Sorry Mereadesso, hopefully the next product on my list to try will be a better value.

The Perugina chocolate bar…..YUM!  I’m not a fan of milk chocolate but this bar was fabulous! Silky, rich, milk chocolate. I hid the bar behind the china so I could savor every last square.  Run to your nearest retailer and pick up a bar for yourself….and hide it.  I would LOVE to try their dark chocolate.

The Baci Two Piece, also by Perugina, was “a heart of gianduia (a luscious blend of milk chocolate and ground hazelnuts), is dotted with chopped hazelnuts, crowned with a whole hazelnut, enveloped in silky dark chocolate, and hugged with a love note.” OMG.  Need I say more.  Yes….these were hidden too….for about 37 seconds.

Bic for Her pens….I will say I thought that Bic had lost their minds when I received these.  A pen for HER?  How sweet!  But not very smart…..um, I’ll take that back.  I LOVE these pens!  I received two packs: Gel Pens and Ball Point (in pink and purple ink!)  They are so pretty, even the metal piece has a beautiful embossed design.  I get a lot of compliments at work on my pens.  It seems silly to feel special because of a pen but I do, I feel really special! If you want to be cool like me, go buy yourself some of these pens.  I like the gel pens the best.

Last, and least favorite was the Nicole by OPI Nic Sticks.  I couldn’t wait to try this because the concept is genious, unfortunately the execution is lacking a little bit.  Or, could it be the color choice sent to me was a little on the lame side.  Whatever it was, I wasn’t a fan.  The polish went on pretty well and this would be great in a pinch but the color looked horrible.  Like I had jaundice, but only on the nailbed.  That’s all I have to say about that.

So, that’s the December CraveBox….I’ll post the February CraveBox contents over the weekend.  That gift was titled The Vitality Box and every single item was tested immediately.
