How do you make Sausage and Peppers?

Sausage and Peppers are incredibly easy to make but this easy Crock Pot Sausage and Peppers recipe takes the easy to another level. Much like my Italian Sausage and Peppers in the oven, this recipe requires not much prep work except chopping up a few peppers and onions.

  1. Layer the bottom of a slow cooker or crock pot with sliced bell peppers and onions.
  2. Top the vegetables with garlic, parsley, garlic powder, salt and pepper.
  3. Layer the sausages on top of the vegetables and drizzle with olive oil.
  4. Cover with the lid and cook on high for 4 hours or low for 6-7 hours.
  5. Serve over the Parmesan Polenta or on a roll for Sausage and Pepper Sandwiches.

Can you put raw sausages in a slow cooker?

YES! You can totally put raw sausages in the slow cooker and because you’re putting them on the top of the vegetables they’ll roast just like they do in the oven. Still with that snappy exterior and juicy interior. Exactly how you want a cooked italian sausage to be.

Can you put frozen sausages in a slow cooker?

YES! You can, also, put frozen sausages in a slow cooker and they’ll cook just the same way. However, you will need to cook them a little longer so adjust the cooking time accordingly.
