Summer is OFFICIALLY HERE! I know I keep saying it, but it was a long winter, and when you work from homeā€¦the days are looooong. Which makes the winter even loooooonger. I just couldnā€™t wait for summerā€¦for hot days and warm nights. Lightning bugs, cool drinks, ice pops and HOT DOGS! For those that know me, Iā€™m a huge hot dog fan. I love them more than anything and when I host a partyā€¦itā€™s usually all about the dogs. And the toppings. Thatā€™s why when Hebrew National asked me to partner with them to announce the official start of summerā€¦.I jumped at the chance while waving my hands in the air like a crazy person. (And possibly running around the house giggling like a teenagerā€¦.possibly.)

To celebrate, I threw an impromptu summer kick off party to let the world know that summer is here. Maybe not to stay, but we will savor every single minute of itā€¦preferably with a hot dog in hand. To be sure my guests were as thrilled about summer as I was, I set up a hot dog bar so everyone could customize their own Hebrew National All-Beef Franks just they way they wanted. Creating the ultimate hot dog bar is simple and a great way to accommodate everyoneā€™s unique palates. And to keep the bugs off our food, I served all the hot dog toppings in mason jars with lids! So easy and if you donā€™t use everything, you can just lid it up and stash it in the fridge for your next gathering.

Hebrew National All-Beef Franks are full of flavor and have that perfect snap when you bite into one. Paired with my New York Style Hot Dog Onions, you will think youā€™re standing on a New York City street cornerā€¦even if youā€™re just lounging in your own backyard. The blend of spices and subtle tomato flavor pair perfectly with Hebrew Nationalā€™s All-Beef Franks, this is sure to become a summertime favorite.Ā What makes a Hebrew National kosher hot dog premium? It’s all about what makes the cut (and what doesn’t.) They’re choosy about what goes into their franks –they use only premium cuts of 100% kosher beef from the front half of the cow and then choose the best from that. No artificial flavors, colors, fillers or by-products. When your hot dog is kosher, that’s a hot dog you can trust. For more summer fun with Hebrew National, visit them onĀ Facebook.

In addition to my New York Style Hot Dog Onions, I also suggest the following toppings for your hot dog bar:

  • Homemade Ketchup
  • Yellow Mustard
  • Dijon Mustard
  • Spicy Mustard
  • Barbecue Sauce
  • Pickle Relish
  • Sport Peppers
  • Lettuce, shredded
  • Tomato, thinly sliced and halved
  • Turkey Bacon
  • Diced Red Onion
  • Shredded Cheese
  • Chili

The possibilities are endless and you can use as much or as little as you like. Serve everything with a simple side like my Smashed Potato Salad and Best Ever Macaroni Salad or take your party up a notch to match your Hebrew National All-Beef Franks and serve my Lobster Pasta Salad. That would be one epic summer party!
