Happy December, everyone! It’s a soggy one today, I can hear the rain and, frankly, I wish it were snow. There..I said it. I like the snow….at first, it’s when it snows for days and doesn’t melt for weeks….and every single time you go outside you hear the crunching of ice under your feet that I really start to yearn for spring. But now…the ground is still warm so the snow would only stick around for a short bit, I’m ready. Plus, I have a pretty sweet puffer coat that I’m dying to wear because we all have to attempt to look fashionable when wearing 15 layers in sub-zero temps. Am I right?

But it’s fine….because December marks the start of the holiday party season. And if you didn’t party your pants off last week with your family for the Thanksgiving holiday….this is the time to round up your friends and whip up some cocktails. And I have just the cocktail for you. My job is pretty amazing because I get to drink before 5 o’clock and take 50 photos of my drinks before I chug them all. It’s a pretty sweet deal. So, I whipped up this Sparkling Cranberry Paloma with cranberries and tequila to throw a little “fiesta” into the holiday festivities. I love this drink because you can make one, two, or…whip them up in a big pitcher for 10. It’s a little tart, a little sweet, a tad fizzy and VERY refreshing. I’m sure everyone at the party will love it.

The Sparkling Cranberry Paloma would be great addition to brunch alongside this holiday-esque Bellini.  Equally sparkling, equally refreshing. Or you could whip up a big batch of these Bloody Margaritas to keep the party a little south of the border. Either way, why not serve up some tiny food like these open face salmon canapés or mini reuben.  Just so you can keep one hand on the glass for ultimate sipping power. So, who’s hosting a party this year? Even if it’s just you and your cats….that’s still a party in my book. 🙂
