Healthy snacks are key when school starts and the easier to make the better. We’ve been creating versions of Dessert Boards all summer long and this oldie but goodie is on repeat now that apples are back in season in the East. Caramel Apple Nachos are our favorite to make because they come together in just minutes.

Crisp, juicy apple slices are loaded with our favorite toppings like granola, dried cranberries and chopped nuts before being drizzled with caramel sauce and marshmallow fruit dip!

Easy, peasy and kids make them vanish in minutes.

How To Make Apple Nachos

Easy Caramel Apple Nachos drizzled with a marshmallowy sour cream sauce and sweet, gooey caramel sauce  are easy to make in just a few minutes. Sprinkled with fun stuff like dried cherries, crunchy granola and mini chocolate chips. They are seriously amazing….and awesome. Dipping the apple slices in a solution of honey and water keeps them from browning.

  1. Core and slice the apples.
  2. Dunk the apples in the honey water and arrange on a platter.
  3. Sprinkle the cranberries, granola, chocolate chips, nuts and other toppings over the apples.
  4. Drizzle the caramel sauce and marshmallow fruit dip over the apples.
  5. Serve immediately.

One of my favorite kitchen tools makes short work of apples, pears and more! This Apple Slicer by OXO will last forever.

How To Keep Apples From Browning

The BEST way to keep your apples from turning brown is by giving them a quick dunk in a solution of 2 tablespoons honey to 1 cup of water. Just stir the honey and water together until the honey is dissolved, then dip the apples in the water for about 30 seconds. The honey keeps the apples sweet and the enzymes keep them from turning brown.

You can also use 1 tablespoon lemon juice stirred into 1 cup of water. Dunk the apples for 30 seconds. The apples will take on a bit of the tartness from the lemon which is why I prefer the honey.
