In the midst of the holiday rush, it’s nice to take some time to relax and watch a movie.  This week we picked up the new Minions © 2015 Universal Studios. All rights reserved. If you haven’t seen the movie yet, you’re in for a real treat…the little henchmen are back at it again with some pretty crazy antics.  I won’t spoil the fun but let it be known that three spunky kids who never sit still were completely frozen in their seats with their eyes glued to the television while the movie was on.  It’s that good!  You can purchase the Minions movie from one of the retailers listed here!

Never, in the history of movies, has Landon ever sat through an entire movie without saying a peep.  The movie is fun, light and the perfect break from all the holiday hubbub we have going on lately.  I whipped up a fun, minions-inspired snack to enjoy during the movie and created a mini movie night for the entire family. Illumination Entertainment’s Minions movie is such a great way to spend time relaxing with friends and family!

  • 4 cups popped popcorn
  • 1 cup salted peanuts
  • 1 cup small size pretzels
  • 1/2 cup yellow candy melts
  • 1/2 cup blue candy melts
  • 1/2 cup candy eyes

  • In a large bowl, toss the popcorn, peanuts and pretzels together. Spread the mix in a single layer on a baking sheet lined with parchment and set aside.
  • Place the yellow candy melts in a microwave safe bowl and melt in the microwave for 1 minute. Stir and melt in 15 second increments until smooth. Transfer to a zip top bag and snip off the corner. Drizzle the chocolate over the snack mix. Repeat with the blue candy melts. Place the candy eyes on top of the snack mix and allow the chocolate to harden, approximately 15-20 minutes. Break the snack mix into pieces and serve. Can be made up to 24 hours in advance and stored in an airtight container.
