Daylight savings time was this morning and I had a little extra pep in my step even though I was down one whole hour of sleep. Can you guess why? Daylight Savings time (as ridiculous as it is…to me.) is always a sure sign that spring is right around the corner….like just a couple of weeks. And if the daffodils are any indication….I would say it already started. Except those same daffodils are now poking their tiny little heads up through a bit of snow, with more on the way. So, I’m willing spring to arrive….Noreaster or not, because I’m so tired of the cold….and snow….and general dreariness that the final days of winter seem to bring. I’m ready for warm weather, chirping birds, sunshine…..and brunch. Who’s with me?

I love the springtime is synonymous with brunching. Like hardcore brunching every single weekend. Saturday AND Sunday. I’m a brunch lover because you can eat a pile of pancakes right alongside a short rib grilled cheese sandwich and not one single person will give you the side eye. Wash it all down with a fruity cocktail and then you head home to take a nap. Those are the rules for proper brunching. I love to host a small gathering of friends for a long, leisurely brunch with a line up of easy cocktails I can whip up in seconds like this Sparkling Lavender Orange Mimosa. No shaking…just a tiny stir is all you need. And my favorite Torani Lavender Syrup is my secret weapon for making this drink so easily.

Torani syrups are readily available and so easy to use. They’re made with simple ingredients like pure cane sugar and natural flavors….like lavender, vanilla and coconut. (Those are my faves, BTW.). They also offer the largest variety of sugar free flavors sweetened with Splenda so you can enjoy all of the flavor with none of the guilt! I love to have a selection to choose in my pantry for my morning coffee or to add fun flavors to my kids hot cocoa in the morning. AND….just for you, Torani is offering 15% off AND FREE SHIPPING to readers of The Suburban Soapbox by using my coupon code: SOAP15. For more information, visit Torani’s website. (Please note: The discount code cannot be combined with any other offers. Free shipping offer is good on orders up to $300. Offer expires at midnight on Monday April 30.)
