The Soapbox Is Off To Chicago

Not permanently, but I have very exciting news!  The Suburban Soapbox is heading to Chicago this week to visit the ALDI test kitchen!  (cue the roaring applause)  I am now serving as the ALDI Brand Ambassador for the holiday season and for good reason, I love it there!  I’m just so giddy and overwhelmed with excitement I can hardly contain myself!!!!

ALDI6

I can’t wait to meet everyone there and visit with the experts that create those amazing recipes in their holiday flyer.  They have a big agenda lined up as soon as I deplane so it will definitely be a full day filled with good food.  And wine.  Definitely wine, because part of the fun-filled day includes sensory pairings and tastings by Sensory Expert Gail Vance Civille and Master Sommelier Leslee Miller.  I.CAN’T.WAIT.

There will also be a blogger challenge and dinner prepared by the test kitchen chefs.  Dinner prepared for me by someone other than me.  I’m in.  And no dishes.  Ha!

Another part of the tour includes an information session…..we can ask questions right at the source….like how the heck is your flour and sugar so inexpensive?????  HOW?

Everyone loves the flour!

And your cereal looks oddly like another familiar brand…..is it the same?

Hmmm, this cereal looks familiar.

How do you keep all the cheese wallet-friendly?

Say cheese!!!

And are you really BFFs with Trader Joe?  Because Trader Joe’s is awesome too?

And your ham.  OMG.  Your ham.  Just how is it so amazing?

Just a ham.

And….I can take your questions with me!  So, tell me….what do you want to know about ALDI markets?  I can get you answers, I’m a woman with connections now. 🙂

  11. I should shop at ALDI more than i do. When I have to teach a cooking class, I shop there to save on supplies but I nee to employ those tactics in my every day shopping. Have fun in Chicago and drink a bottle of wine for me, please.

  12. How fun! I don’t know if it’s the same in the US, but in Germany (where Aldi started), it’s well-known that big brands sell their products (their name-brand products) to Aldi and then Aldi puts it in their own packaging. I have no idea why they do this but we don’t mind buying name brand stuff at a fraction of the price. 😀

  13. This is amazing news! I adore Aldi. Have fun!

  14. This post has me craving some of their awesome chocolates.
