Ingredients
  • 5 Tbsp. salted butter browned
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/4 cups granulated sugar divided
  • 1 Tbsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 Tsp. Kosher salt
  • 1 cup half and half
  • 4 cups fresh berries
  • 1/4 cup light brown sugar
  • 1 Tsp. vanilla
Instructions
  1. Add the butter to a small skillet and melt over medium-high heat. 

  2. Continue cooking until the butter begins to brown slightly, stirring or swirling the pan occasionally. Turn off the heat and cool slightly.

  3. Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

  4. Whisk the flour, 3/4 cup sugar, baking powder and salt together in a medium bowl.

  5. Gradually add half and half while continuing to whisk until smooth. Set aside.

  6. In a separate bowl, toss berries, brown sugar, remaining granulated sugar, and vanilla until combined.

  7. Pour the butter into the baking dish and then the batter over the butter. Don't stir.

  8. Pour berries over the batter and spread with a spatula.

  9. Bake for 45 minutes or until crust is golden brown.

  10. Allow the cobbler to rest for 10 minutes before serving.

  11. Top with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream, if desired.

Recipe Notes

Brown Butter Berry Cobbler can be made up to 24 hours in advance and stored covered in the refrigerator. To reheat, preheat the oven to 325 degrees and bake until warmed through.
