A family favorite that's also perfect for game day, Buffalo Chicken Stromboli is made with tender, shredded chicken, buffalo sauce and blue cheese wrapped in a crispy, golden blanket of pizza dough.
Lightly coat a baking sheet with cooking spray or sprinkle with cornmeal. (The cornmeal prevents sticking and adds great texture to the Stromboli one cooked. Don’t do both)
Lightly dust a work surface with the flour and roll the dough out to a large rectangle approximately 13x9 inches.
Add the buffalo sauce and the shredded chicken to a bowl. Toss to coat.
Spread the chicken evenly over the dough leaving 1/2 inch around the edge.
Drizzle the ranch dressing over the chicken evenly and sprinkle with the blue cheese to cover.
Roll the Stromboli up jelly roll style tucking the ends inward. Continue rolling until the Stromboli is sealed.
Arrange the Stromboli on the prepared baking sheet seam side down.
Brush the top and sides with the egg.
In a small bowl, mix together the ranch seasoning and cheese.
Sprinkle the cheese mixture over the Stromboli to cover.
Transfer to the oven and bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown and crisp.
Allow the Stromboli to rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing.
Serve with the blue cheese dressing, crumbled blue cheese, ranch dressing, celery and extra buffalo sauce, if desired.
Notes
Stromboli can be assembled up to 2 days in advance. Store in the refrigerator wrapped in plastic wrap until ready to bake.
