Ingredients
2slicesof hearty breadSourdough, brioche and multi-grain are a few of our favorites
1ripe avocado
1/8teaspoonkosher salt
1/2teaspoonlemon juice
Instructions
Toast the bread unit golden and crisp.
Cut the avocado in half and remove the pit.
Scoop out the avocado flesh using a large spoon and place in a bowl. Sprinkle with the salt and lemon juice.
Smash the avocado with a fork until almost smooth (we like our’s on the chunky side.)
Spread the avocado on top of the toast and enjoy as is or top with any of the suggested topping in the above post.
Notes
If using just half the avocado, place the unused half with the pit still in the center in a container and cover with lemon juice. Seal with a lid and store in the refrigerator for up to 1 day.For Everything Avocado Toast: Scoop out the entire half of the flesh from the skin (or peel the skin off the avocado flesh) and place cut side down on a cutting board. Slice thinly then fan out on top of your toast. Drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle with everything bagel seasoning.For Egg and Bacon Avocado Toast: Top your avocado toast with crumbled, cooked bacon and a fried egg.
