Ingredients

cups
heavy cream
1
pound
semisweet chocolate
either melting wafers or chopped baking bars work best
2
ounces
bittersweet chocolate
1
tablespoon
vanilla extract
1
tablespoon
grand marnier
optional
Pound
cake
bananas, marshmallows, berries, cookies and pretzels for dipping.
Instructions
Create a double boiler by adding a few inches of water to a saucepan and bringing to a boil over medium heat.
Place a mixing bowl on top of the saucepan being sure the bowl is not touching the water and add the cream to the bowl.
Heat the cream until steaming and turn the heat to low.
Add the chocolate to the cream and stir until smooth.
Stir in the vanilla and grand marnier, if using.
Transfer the fondue to a fondue pot and light the burner underneath being sure the flame is low so it doesn’t burn the fondue.
Serve the fondue with your favorite dipping items.
Notes
Fondue is best served soon after making it.
