The Best Spring Cleaning Tips for Your Home
Quick and easy Spring Cleaning Tips that will have you back outside in no time. Why spend hours cleaning your home when the weather gets warmer when you can make short work of the task with the help of a few simple products.
Spring is finally here and with it comes the urge to clean all the things in the house. From the fingerprints on the back door, to the dust bunnies that bred behind the sofa….I want it all out of my house as quickly as possible because really….the last thing I want to do on a warm, sunny day is spend hours in my home scrubbing, scraping and shining the floors, windows or walls. I’m not sure what happens over the winter that makes my house seem totally funkified but springtime just seems like the perfect time to open the window and air it all out. And to get myself out of the house even faster during a spring cleaning binge…I’m sharing my favorite cleaning tips to help you speed up your cleaning process, too!
First, find a eco-friendly cleaning product like my new favorite line from Open Nature. I found theOpen Nature line at my local ACME Markets and what I love most about this line, besides the lemon-y fresh scent, is that all Open Nature household cleaning and care products are dye free and never tested on animals. The Open Nature cleaning line includes products that are biodegradable, fragrance free and perfume free, and are certified Safer Choice by the U.S. EPA. And it’s now available in the Philadelphia area exclusively At Acme Markets! If you don’t live in Philly, don’t worry. You can also find Open Nature at all Albertsons Companies family of stores, including Albertsons, Safeway, Jewel-Osco, Vons, Pavilions, Randalls, Tom Thumb, Shaw’s, Star Market, and Carrs/Safeway. Their cleaning line is so amazing that ACME Markets proudly stands behind Open Nature™ with a 100% money-back guarantee.
Next, pick a room….any room and make that your goal for the day. Don’t plan on cleaning the entire house from top to bottom all in one day. By selecting the rooms that you use most often (and will have the biggest, grimiest messes to take care of) and focusing only on those first, you’ll be able to knock out the rest of the house quickly in one day….another day. Then, once you selected a room, remove everything you can from the surfaces (like kitchen appliances off the counters, centerpieces off the tables, lamps off the side tables…you get the picture) and pull the furniture about 24 inches away from the way. THEN, using your Open Nature All Purpose Cleaner, wipe down the baseboards, window sills, furniture…..all the surfaces before you vacuum the room. This will ensure that you’re vacuuming up any dust that may be pushed from the surface onto the floor instead of cleaning the floor and then pushing the dust/dirt onto your previously clean floor.
Clean the windows last and give the window sills one extra wipe! I love using Open Nature Window/Glass Cleaner because it has a fresh lemon scent and is made with non-toxic, biodegradable ingredients. It leaves a clean, streak-free shine which many other cleaners do not. I used it on my outdoor dining table, too! Squeaky clean and I can feel good about knowing there aren’t any harmful chemicals when my family sits down to eat dinner.
AND to ensure I don’t have little pieces of lint stuck to the glass I used Open Nature paper towels that are made from 100% recycled paper and are certified by the Sustainable Forestry Initiative. To keep your home clean and germ free, be sure to wash your hands frequently using the Open Nature Liquid Hand Soap. I keep a bottle of this on the kitchen sink to ensure the entire family is playing a part in keeping our home free of dirty fingerprints and harmful germs. And now with barbecue season in full swing, I find it handy to have when prepping food for the grill or after we’ve indulged in a massive seafood feast. Open Nature Liquid Hand Soap is also free of phosphates, paragons, phthalates and artificial colors. The fresh scent of lily and jasmine is an added bonus. Stop by your local ACME Markets today to stock up on all your Open Nature cleaning products and if you don’t live in the Philadelphia area you can find the Open Nature product line exclusively at any of your local Albertsons Companies family of stores including Albertsons, Safeway, Jewel-Osco, Vons, Pavilions, Randalls, Tom Thumb, Shaw’s, Star Market, and Carrs/Safeway.
