Iced Lavender Oatmilk Latte

Gone are the days of overspending at Starbucks. While I’ve certainly been guilty of grabbing a drink while shopping at Target, I honestly don’t go to Starbucks too much anymore because I’ve become my new favorite barista! My wallet and taste buds have both thanked me for this newfound hobby. Making your own fun coffee drinks is also just so much fun!

Lavender has always been one of my favorite flavors to play around with. Lavender lemonade, lavender ice cream and lavender lemonade bars are must make spring and summer recipes! So, the thought of lavender in my morning coffee makes me so excited – and it’s not easy to get me excited to leave bed in the morning.

You only need three ingredients to make this latte! Lavender simple syrup, espresso (or cold brew) and oat milk blend together to create a sweet, creamy and floral latte. The BEST part? Starbucks uses powder to create the lavender flavor whereas this recipe uses syrup. The syrup has a much more floral flavor, making this latte even better than the one you could go spend too much money on.

  1. Add ice. Grab your favorite glass and fill it with as much ice as you’d like.
  2. Pour and stir. Measure the correct amounts of espresso, oatmilk and lavender syrup. Pour them all into the ice filled glass. Give it a stir to combine.
  3. Taste. Sip on your new favorite latte! Decide if it needs more of any of the ingredients. Enjoy!

Ingredient Notes

Let’s take a look at that short and sweet shopping list!

  • Lavender Simple Syrup – If you can’t find it at the store, you can always make homemade lavender simple syrup. It’s so good and so easy to make with just water, sugar and culinary lavender. I always keep it stocked in my kitchen for recipes like this!
  • Oat Milk – I recommend using oat milk over any other plant based milk because it’s the thickest and creamiest. Coconut milk is a close second.
  • Espresso – No espresso maker, no problem! Simply swap it with good quality cold brew. You can always make your own homemade cold brew in no time to save some money!

Is the iced lavender oatmilk latte sweet?

Personally, I don’t find this iced latte to be overly sweet at all. It’s got the perfect balance of strong espresso (or cold brew), sweet simple syrup and floral flavor. You can always feel free to add more or less lavender syrup as you see fit, of course! If you want to keep things on the less sweet side, only add 1 tbsp syrup at first and see if it needs more after a taste test.

Is this lavender latte vegan?

Yes! Since we’re using oat milk instead of regular dairy, this latte is vegan. It’s also pretty great if you’re lactose intolerant since oat milk is lactose free. The other ingredients, espresso and lavender simple syrup, are naturally vegan and lactose free as well.
