Smokey, sweet, rich, creamy…this pile of fries has it all. Duck Confit Sweet Potato Fries with Smoked Gouda Cheese Sauce will truly be the hit at any spring gathering this year.
I’m obsessed with french fries. They’re crispy and soft and salty and so satisfying when you need something seriously comforting. Since I could eat them day and night I like to be sure I’m eating the healthiest fries I can or…you know, pants get snug. Story of my life. That’s why I was thrilled to partner with Alexia to #SpringIntoFlavor and create an amazing, upscale snack using their products!
I love luxe food. (Food that’s been all swanked up in some way to make it seriously epic.) Duck Confit is one of my favorite things ever. Duck Confit in a rich gravy sauce is purely knee-buckling….and then throw it on top of a pile of crispy sweet potato fries, drench in a creamy smoked gouda cheese sauce. Drooling yet?
Wal-mart has a great selection of Alexia products to choose from. I picked up a bag of Onion Rings, Sweet Potato Fries and Spicy Sweet Potato Fries to create some crazy concoctions at home. I love the fact that Alexia produces high quality, all-natural products that can be transformed into something more than the standard onion rings and fries. Super versatile in many recipes, you can get creative at home and know that you’re still feeding your family something healthy.
Duck Confit Sweet Potato Fries with Smoked Gouda Cheese Sauce is really simple to make. And bonus points because you can make the duck confit gravy and cheese sauce in advance saving you time when you’re having guests over. Because who likes hiding in the kitchen when you have friends visiting? I like to bake my fries on a cooling rack, you know those metal racks that we use to cool our cookies during the holidays? Well, break out one of those and place it over a foiled lined baking sheet (for easy clean up), spread your fries in a single layer and bake away. This allows the air to circulate all the way around the fries making them extra crispy and you don’t need to worry about stirring them halfway during cooking time. (Which I ALWAYS forget to do.)
Pile those fries in a big bowl and top with a healthy ladleful of duck confit gravy.
Top the gravy with another healthy ladleful of smoked gouda cheese sauce.
Serve immediately with a bunch of forks (because cold season is still running rampant).
These Duck Confit Sweet Potato Fries with Smoked Gouda Cheese Sauce are a great way to kick off spring with your friends. If you are willing to share. If not….you can come up with something creative on your own to make with Alexia fries or onion rings. Check out Alexia on Facebook and Pinterest!
