Bloody Margarita
A citrusy cocktail mashup! The Bloody Mary and Margarita are combined for a light and fruity brunch masterpiece. My Bloody Margarita is a great way to rev up your morning.
Celebrate Brunch with us this week as we prepare for Mother’s Day.
Since Brunch Week is overlapping with Cinco de Mayo this year I thought it would be fitting to throw a little Mexican twist into a brunch staple. I thought of so many ideas like twisting this Grilled Shrimp Tostada into something breakfasty, or making my Blueberry Coconut Yogurt Coffee Cake a with a lot more lime and some chili powder (don’t try it….it’s not good…at all.) And then while I was sipping a Bloody Mary one day I had a lightbulb moment…why not spin the Mary into a Margarita. Citrus and tomato with a little bit of spice….how could it be bad?
My first attempt ever at crafting a Bloody Mary was last year when I made this Palmetto Bloody Mary as a tribute to my trip to Palmetto Bluff in South Carolina. That cocktail was a definite home run with that hint of Old Bay so I had set the bar pretty high when I decided to make another one.
You can totally use this easy Bloody Mary Mix to make things go even more quickly.
I thought about what I would throw into my Frankenstein creation when Grimmway Farms sent me a box of goodies overflowing with fresh veggies and True Organic Juices. Just in time. Because I was about to scarf down a piece of Kentucky Bourbon Butter Cake. (It’s like they knew.)
Grimmway Farms is one of a plethora of sponsors for #BrunchWeek. In the box was a bottle of Tropical Mango TrueOrganic Juice. That was it, that was the spin I was looking for. Something a little fruity and tropical…like Mexico. It pairs perfectly with the tomatoes and spices. Don’t worry if you can’t find TrueOrganic juices for this recipe. It works equally well with orange juice. And the chili spiced salt on the rim of the glass is the perfect way to toast the morning, you will never go back to the Bloody Old Mary again.

These would be perfect to have with a giant omelet and a plate a bacon!
What a great cocktail combo!
I love all things bloody mary!! great cocktail!
I know some people in my family who would LOVE this cocktail!
This may be the ONLY Bloody Mary in the world I think I’d actually drink. The mango juice definitely would balance out the saltiness and tomatoey-ness (yes, that’s a word now), which is usually what I don’t like. Nice job!
Two of my favorite cocktail combined! Genius!
