Cool off with a Strawberry Sweet Tart Slushie for grown ups. You will not find these at your local convenience store because (besides the alcohol) this version has just four ingredients and no refined sugar or corn syrup. Healthy and fun, you can whip these up in just a couple of minutes for an impromptu party anytime.

Boozy Strawberry Sweet Tart Slushie | The Suburban Soapbox

Landon loves to go to Wawa. For those of you not in the mid-Atantic region, Wawa is a gas station/convenience store that sells everything…even freshly made sandwiches and hoagies. And chicken fingers and mac and cheese and breakfast bowls and….well, you get the picture. We go there several times a week since I drive a tank and am constantly filling it up. I never said I was “green”. Landon’s new thing lately is getting a slushie. First off, they are nasty. It just looks so NOT like something we should be putting in our bodies. But it’s a treat and sometimes I may or may not take a sip….or two…or five. Maybe six. It becomes so addicting. It’s that sugar.

I imagined how addicting the slushie would be if it had something fun in it….like vodka! But since vodka is also sugary I wanted to balance everything out by starting with a healthier base. And then I stumbled upon Three Olives Tartz vodka and thought, “Now that’s a fun experiment.” Who doesn’t like Sweet Tarts???

I always have frozen strawberries available for quick and easy smoothies….this made it a no-brainer. Everything goes right into the blender and if you have a chop setting, use that first. It will take a few minutes until the mixture becomes consistency of slush….like the convenience store machine….so be patient.

Now you’ll just have to explain why you can’t share YOUR slushie with your kids. Or….start with a virgin version first….or better yet, whip these up after their bedtime. Sit outside with your slushie and a straw. Listen to the locusts that are slowly arriving right about now. Relax. Summer is the best.

I love this idea! I have never tried 3 olives tart vodka, but have tried some of their other flavors and I’m always impressed. My family is headed to the beach in a couple of weeks and I’ll be sure to keep this recipe in mind. Icy, frozen cocktails are the best on vacation!

I always feel a lot better about drinking something sugary when the sugar is naturally from fresh fruits! Those gas station slushies….oh they are good but thats because they have crack in them. I think they even sell margaritas in a can now…ew. This is so much better!

Hi Kellie! My hubby is a big fan of Wawa–he grew up in PA and every time we go back we just HAVE to stop at Wawa 🙂 I bet he would like this slushy very much. Pinning it for later!
