I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to choose a cutting board to use for this post and I received the 18 x 12 Maple Cutting Board with Grips from John Boos. I’ve always been a fan of Boos Blocks because of their high quality and durability. What I loved about this one in particular was the size and the fact that it could double as a serving platter! Perfect for the upcoming holidays, ham….prime rib….tenderloin roast…it’s all happening this year. And bonus, is the fact that it’s reversible so you can use one side as a work space and not worry that it’s going to look a little worn and the other side can be used to serve. This also doubles as a fabulous cheese board…..an epically sized cheese board.

  • 1 cup fresh cranberries
  • 3/4 cup Riesling

  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1 tablespoon dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon orange zest
  • 8-10 pound spiral sliced ham

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 325 degrees.
  • Place the ham in a baking dish and bake for 10 minutes per pound uncovered.
  • While the ham bakes, add the cranberries, riesling, sugar and honey to a small saucepan and cook over medium heat until the cranberries start to burst and break down. Stir in the mustard and orange zest and allow to cook for an additional 5 minutes over low heat until all the cranberries have broken down. Allow to cool slightly and then pour the mixture into the bowl of a food processor. Process until smooth.
  • When 30 minutes remains in the cooking time, brush the glaze on the ham and in between the slices using a pastry or basting brush. Finish cooking the ham and serve immediately.
