A party for your tastebuds, this Sweet Chili Orange Glazed Salmon is like a flavor explosion in your mouth. Quick, easy and healthy, this is a family favorite in my house. Served with sugar snap peas and white rice, dinner will be on the table in less than 30 minutes!
Have you ever watched Chopped on Food Network? I watch it almost every night and right now…I’m watching these two 10 year old girls battle it out ’til the bitter end. It’s pretty fascinating….they’re remarkably talented and, seriously, the pressure. I would be melting in a puddle of sweat if I were on this show. But no, these girls are all calm….the one girl’s dish is burning and she’s like, “Oh, I’ll just do this instead.” Me….I would probably would have popped open a bottle of wine and chugged the whole thing. I mean really, WHERE do these kids learn to cook…I’m always amazed!
That’s why I have a blog instead of appearing on these competition shows. And my news appearances are not stressful at all since there’s ZERO competition. I don’t do well under pressure and my husband has told me repeatedly I wouldn’t even survive in a restaurant kitchen because I move like a snail. I like to think I’m methodical in my movement….not snail like. And that’s why I like easy recipes that I can get on the table in minutes….otherwise we’d be eating at midnight and that’s not good for anyone. So, this week I whipped up this easy Sweet Chili Orange Glazed Salmon for dinner and WOW….was it fantastic.
I used the rest of my Orange Marmalade to create the sauce and marinaded the filets for about 30 minutes. Then, I popped it under the broiler for about 10 minutes….yes, 10 minutes! That’s all! Your side dishes will take longer than this Sweet Chili Orange Glazed Salmon, really. Top your cooked fish with the remaining sauce and serve with something light and crunchy like this Asian Style Slaw or my favorite Rice Noodle Salad. Either one is fantastic and would be perfect for lent!

- 1 cup orange marmalade
- 2 tablespoons chili-garlic paste
- 1 1/2 tablespoons rice wine vinegar
- 1 1/2 tablespoons honey
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 4 4 ounce Salmon filets
- 1/2 cup chopped green onions
- 1/2 cup sesame seeds
- In a small bowl, whisk together the orange marmalade, chili paste, vinegar, honey and soy sauce.
- Place the salmon in a shallow dish and pour 1/2 of the marinade of the fish. Marinade for 30 minutes.
- Turn the broiler on high.
- Place the salmon on a baking sheet skin side down and broil for 10 minutes or until the fish flakes easily with a fork.
- Drizzle the remaining sauce over the salmon. Sprinkle with green onions and sesame seeds before serving.
Do not marinade the fish for longer than 1 hour or the fish will start to break down and become mushy. (Yes, that's a technical term.)
