Brazilian Lemonade
Brazilian Lemonade is THE drink of the summer! Fresh limes (not lemons) are the star of the show and they’re sweetened by the perfect amount of creamy sweetened condensed milk and just a little bit of sugar. It’s a tangy, sweet, and unbelievably refreshing drink!
Brazilian Lemonade
I can’t stop daydreaming about this drink! As soon as the weather gets over 70°F outside, this Brazilian lemonade recipe is one that gets remade in my kitchen on a weekly basis. It’s creamy, sweet, refreshing as can be and SO easy to make. It really checks all the right boxes! It’s perfect for serving at pool parties, picnics, and all other fun in the sun occasions.
With that being said, I also make this lemonade just for fun all the time. It’s so easy to toss together! When the craving strikes (which is pretty much every day in the summer), I can whip up a big pitcher of this lemonade in just a few minutes. Plus, the ingredients are minimal and all inexpensive. You just need limes, sweetened condensed milk, sugar, water and ice.
And before you drop a comment below to correct me, I know. This is technically limeade. However, it’s been referred to as Brazilian lemonade since it was first concocted so that’s what I’m calling it too! I first tried this at a local Brazilian restaurant and was immediately hooked.
Whatever you want to call it, this summery drink is a must-make. It’s the perfect balance of citrusy and creamy, sweet and tart. Plus, since you’re making it yourself, you can always adjust the ingredients to best fit your tastes.
How to Make Brazilian Lemonade
Take a quick look at just how quick and easy this Brazilian lemonade recipe is! For more precise step by step instructions, just keep on scrolling down to the recipe card.
- Blend. Add the limes, sweetened condensed milk, sugar and water to a blender. Blend until smooth.
- Strain. This is important – you don’t want to drink chunks of lime! Place a fine mesh strainer over your pitcher and strain the lemonade into it.
- Enjoy! Serve your Brazilian lemonade over ice.
Ingredient Notes
Let’s take a look at what you’ll need to make this creamy limeade! Scroll down to the recipe card for exact measurements.
- Limes – No need to peel or juice them! You can chop them if you’d like to give your blender an easier time, though.
- Sweetened Condensed Milk – This is what creates that unbeatable smooth creaminess.
- Sugar – A little goes a long way. Plus, the condensed milk is already sweetened, so you don’t want to go overboard with the amount of sugar you add.
- Water – You can add more if you’d like a thinner and less creamy lemonade.
- Ice – Don’t forget to serve your drink over ice of course!
Storage
You can keep Brazilian lemonade stored for about 1-2 days in a pitcher in the fridge. You may need to give it a gentle stir before serving if it’s been in there for a while.
Variations to Try
I don’t usually change up this classic recipe too often, but if you did want to switch things up a bit, here are some ideas to try!
- Adjust the sweetness – While the sweetened condensed milk adds a good amount of sweetness, the additional 2 TBSP of sugar really helps to cut through the acidic lime juice. Feel free to reduce the amount of added sugar or even omit it entirely for a less sweet drink. For added sweetness, you can always sprinkle in more.
- More or less water – I find that with the exact measurements listed in the recipe card, this Brazilian lemonade always turns out perfectly creamy without being too thick. However, if it’s too thick for your liking, you can always add more water a little at a time until you reach your desired consistency.

I haven’t made this I just read it, although I intend to, and I wonder “How is this lemonade if there are no lemons in it
Because it’s Brazilian and there’s an abundance of limes in Brazil but they do call them lemons…..so lemonade.
How do you think this would be with a little tequila or vodka mixed with it? Looking for a back yard pool party, unique drink!
Magnificent! It’s so good when you make it adult-ish.
