WHAT IS TIRAMISU

If you’re not familiar with Tiramisu, it’s a coffee-flavored dessert originating in Italy that’s made by dipping ladyfingers in coffee before layering with whipped mascarpone cheese flavored with cocoa.

Tiramisu is easy to make and there are so many variations to choose from these days. My Tiramisu recipe is one of my all time favorites but I’m not biased at all.

HOW TO MAKE TIRAMISU

An authentic tiramisu recipe is made by layering coffee soaked ladyfingers with whipped mascarpone cheese and coco powder then chilling in the refrigerator for a few hours to allow the flavors to blend.

My No Bake Caramel Apple Tiramisu recipe is a little different because I used a few extra filling options.

  1. Arrange one layer of ladyfingers on the bottom of a baking dish filling in the spaces with smaller pieces if necessary.
  2. Drizzle the apple cider/coffee mixture over the ladyfingers to lightly soak.
  3. In a bowl, beat the mascarpone, heavy cream, espresso powder, cinnamon, nutmeg and sugar with a hand mixer until fluffy and smooth.
  4. Spread 1/2 the mascarpone cheese over the ladyfingers in an even layer.
  5. Top the mascarpone with one can Lucky Leaf Apple Fruit Filling.
  6. Drizzle the apples with 3 tablespoons caramel sauce.
  7. Arrange another layer of ladyfingers over the apples.
  8. Spread the remaining mascarpone over the ladyfingers and top with apples as a garnish.
  9. Sprinkle the chopped walnuts over the tiramisu and drizzle with two tablespoons caramel sauce.
  10. Refrigerate the tiramisu for 1 hour or overnight.
  11. Serve with more caramel sauce and chopped walnuts, if desired.

HOW TO MAKE IN ADVANCE

What I love most about this easy Tiramisu recipe is that you can make it up to 2 days in advance! Simply assemble the tiramisu in it’s entirety and cover tightly with plastic wrap.

Store the Caramel Apple Tiramisu in the refrigerator until ready to serve. It’s best if served chilled, too!
