Homemade Bang Bang Sauce is super easy to make and the creamy, sweet, spicy and tangy flavor is irresistible. You’ll want to put it on everything you eat!

With a name like bang bang sauce, you just know it’s going to be good. And you’d be right! The combination of mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce, and sriracha creates the perfect balance of creaminess, sweetness, and heat. A splash of rice vinegar adds a subtle tangy note that ties all the flavors together. Best of all, this easy sauce can be prepared in just a few minutes with simple ingredients that you likely already have in your kitchen!

I love using this bang bang sauce for my Crispy Air Fryer Salmon Bites, but it’s a fantastic dip for crispy shrimp, chicken nuggets, or even fresh-cut vegetables. You can also drizzle it over grilled meats or seafood, or use it as a dressing for salads and meal bowls. It’s that little something-something that can take almost any meal to the next level!

  • Mayonnaise – The base for the sauce. It makes bang bang sauce rich and creamy!
  • Sweet Chili Sauce – For sweetness and a touch of heat.
  • Soy Sauce – This adds a salty, umami flavor. You can swap in tamari or coconut aminos for a gluten-free option.
  • Honey – Honey is a nice counter-balance to the other flavors in this recipe.
  • Rice Vinegar – Be sure to use unseasoned rice vinegar, which isn’t sweetened.
  • Garlic Powder – Using garlic powder adds a nice savory flavor without the punch of fresh garlic.
  • Sriracha – For a little heat! You can adjust the amount to your liking.

Tips and Variations

Here are some simple tips and variations to make your bang bang sauce PERFECT!

  • Adjust the heat. If you prefer a milder sauce, reduce the amount of sriracha. For a spicier sauce, add more or add a pinch of cayenne.
  • Lighten it up. I wouldn’t recommend swapping all the mayo for Greek yogurt, but you can substitute half of it for yogurt to make the sauce a little bit lighter.
  • Add herbs. Finely chopped cilantro would add a fresh flavor to this bang bang sauce recipe.
