Homemade Garlic Bread
Skip the frozen stuff – this easy homemade Garlic Bread is easy to make and so very flavorful! A baguette is sliced in half, toasted, and all dressed up with butter, roasted garlic, and more. Serve it with your next spaghetti dinner and enjoy every garlicky bite!
Garlic Bread
Garlic bread is just a fact of life in my house. It’s one of those staple side dishes that never goes out of style! With that being said, yes – I’ve heated up the frozen stuff about a million times. While it’s definitely not half bad, this semi-homemade garlic bread is SO much better! Also, it’s pretty easy to make with inexpensive ingredients and hassle-free steps.
A baguette is sliced and toasted with a garlic butter mixture that’s so good, you might just drool over it. Roasted garlic, parmesan cheese, and Italian seasoning dress up butter in the most delicious way. That butter then gets generously spread all over the bread before you toast it to your liking! Make it extra crunchy or keep it on the softer side. Either way, it’s hard to go wrong with this easy garlic bread recipe!
While I usually serve my garlic bread with spaghetti (the most classic combo), there are so many other great ways to enjoy it like alongside a bowl of this Chicken Soup recipe! I recently served this garlic bread as an appetizer and it disappeared with a quickness. There’s something about flavors of buttery roasted garlic and fresh parmesan that just has people drooling I guess… And I can’t blame them!
How to Make Garlic Bread
Make the very best garlic bread every time with this recipe! It’s quick, easy, and so much better than the frozen stuff.
- Make the spread. Toss all of the garlic bread spread ingredients into a food processor and pulse until smooth. Set aside.
- Butter the bread. Slice the baguette in half. Spread the garlic butter all over both halves of the bread and try to create even layers.
- Bake it. Bake the bread for 10 minutes at 425°F.
- Enjoy! Let the bread cool for just a minute or so before slicing and serving.
Baking Tips
Enjoy the best garlic bread every time with these quick tips and tricks!
- Use good bread. A baguette always works best. Just grab a freshly baked one from the bakery section of your grocery store.
- Roast your garlic ahead of time. This will save you so much time when it comes to making the spread! Learn all of the best tips and tricks for roasting garlic HERE.
- Grate your own parmesan. Freshly grated parmesan is so, so much better than the bagged stuff. It may take a few extra minutes to grate the cheese off the block but your efforts will be worth it for the best flavor and consistency.
- Make your bread cheesy. Because, well, why not?! To make your garlic bread deliciously cheesy, top it off with mozzarella before popping it in the oven.
How to Store Leftovers
In an airtight container in the fridge, leftover garlic bread will stay fresh for about 2 days. Make sure it’s cooled to room temperature prior to storing! If it’s still warm, it’ll create condensation in the container which can lead to bacterial growth and make your bread soggy.
For the best crisp consistency, reheat it in the oven or air fryer until warm and toasty again. I like to keep a little extra garlic bread spread in the fridge to add some buttery goodness back into the bread in case it dries out a little in the fridge.
