Breakfast on the go….a struggle or no? I always have a hard time finding something healthy for breakfast when I’m about to run out the door. A smoothie is great but it leaves me hungry like an hour later…kinda like Chinese food. So, when I’d pack a smoothie to take to the office in the morning, I’d sip the whole thing during my commute and have nothing left to snack on at my desk. I’d end up starving an hour later and fighting the urge to hit the vending machine…which was, literally, right behind me. So, I came up with this nifty idea for a Triple Berry Smoothie Snack Jar to totally fix that problem. And the lack of quarters was always a help, too…but didn’t stop my stomach from rumbling.
Some days I want to fuel up without filling out and that, sometimes, includes a plant based diet. This Triple Berry Smoothie Snack Jar is filled with nutrients and protein that are completely plant based. No added animal fats or dairy….which is a nice change and a great way to give your body a break. I shopped at my local Kroger Natural Foods Department to find everything I need to make this Smoothie Snack Jar recipe and it’s now on a staple snack in my house. I love the variety of products available in the market which includes my favorite Silk Protein Plant Milk and Silk Dairy Free Yogurt. They taste and look just like dairy products so they’re perfect in this recipe.
My Triple Berry Smoothie Snack Jar is so easy to make and is perfectly portable. Whip up the smoothie with a mix of frozen and fresh berries, Silk Dairy Free Yogurt, Silk Protein Plant Milk and a bit of vanilla. Spoon some fresh berries, Simple Truth Granola and Silk Dairy Free Yogurt into a large jar. Pour in your smoothie and top with a lid. You’re ready to take on the world now!
I love that the Triple Berry Smoothie Snack Jar can be customized to your own personal taste, too. Don’t like berries, add some pineapple, chia seeds and coconut milk for a Pina Colada style Smoothie Snack Jar. Want something more dessert like? Swap out the regular yogurt in this Strawberry Cheesecake Smoothie for Silk Dairy Free Yogurt and enjoy a sweet treat without the guilt. The choice is your’s!
