Whipped Coffee Mudslide Cocktail
Take your whipped coffee up a notch by turning it into a FABULOUS Mudslide cocktail. Happy hours can now start in the morning since this spiked coffee drink is an acceptable way to begin your day.
Raise your hand if you love Mudslides? I’m a big fan, they’re so creamy and rich….and boozy! It’s not a drink I can pound all night long but one or two certainly can take the edge off a bit.
And with the Dalgona Coffee recipe blowing up social media, I just had to combine the two drinks into one to make the ultimate Whipped Coffee Mudslide! It’s sweet and powerful, with enough coffee flavor to make you want to bounce out of bed just to start sipping on one.
If you haven’t tried Whipped Coffee yet, you’re in for a real treat. It’s kind of magical to make and only takes a few minutes. The only difference with this recipe is you’re topping a Mudslide cocktail instead of your glass of milk.
WHAT IS WHIPPED COFFEE
Whipped coffee, or Dalgona Coffee (Korean Coffee), is made with a combination of instant coffee, sugar and hot water, the mixture is whisked until light, airy and creamy smooth. It’s then spooned over either hot or cold milk.
Social Media influencers all over the world have been making their own versions and I have been dabbling with my own tasty creations for the past several weeks.
It’s so much fun to make and totally addicting…so be warned.
HOW TO MAKE WHIPPED COFFEE
The process for making whipped coffee is simple.
Place equal parts instant coffee and sugar in a clean bowl. Add boiling water to the combination and let it sit for 10-15 seconds to give the mixture a chance to dissolve.
Whisk the mixture either by hand or with an electric mixer until light, fluffy and creamy….similar to whipped cream.
You can use either hot or cold milk, add your milk to a glass and top with spoonfuls of your whipped coffee.
You can make as much or as little as you like but I’ve found that you need enough in the bowl to get it to whip up easily. So, I like to start with 2 tablespoons instant coffee granules, 2 tablespoons granulated sugar and 2 tablespoons hot water. That combination seems to go quickly and easily.
To make a big batch just add 1 tablespoon of each ingredient for each additional person you’re serving whipped coffee to.
Any instant coffee granules will work but I, especially, love to use Instant Espresso Powder because it tastes less like “instant coffee.”
WHAT IS A MUDSLIDE
A mudslide cocktail is a boozy drink made with Kahlua, Bailey’s, Vodka and heavy cream. It’s, basically, a liquid dessert.
You can make a frozen mudslide by throwing all the ingredients in a blender with a cup of vanilla ice cream and blending until the consistency of a milkshake.
Either way, topping it off with a few spoonfuls of Whipped Coffee just makes it all the more dreamy. This Whipped Coffee Mudslide is what dreams are made of.
If you don’t want to make a mudslide, this Dalgona Coffee is great on top of other boozy coffee based drinks like a White Russian or Nutty Irishman!

Get the Recipe: Whipped Coffee Mudslide Cocktail Recipe
- 2 tbsp instant coffee granules
- 2 tbsp granulated sugar
- 2 tbsp boiling water
- 12 ounce milk
- 2 ounces Irish Cream
- 2 ounces Coffee Liquor
- 2 ounces Vodka
- 3 ounces Heavy Cream
- cocktail shaker
- Add the coffee, sugar and boiling water to a clean bowl. Allow to sit for 15 seconds so the ingredients can start to dissolve.
- Using a hand mixer or wire whisk, beat the ingredients together until it becomes frothy, light and creamy. Set aside.
- Add ice to a cocktail shaker. Pour the Irish Cream, coffee liquor, vodka and cream over the ice.
- Place the lid on the shaker and shake to combine.
- Pour the mudslide into two glasses and top with the whipped coffee.
- Serve immediately.
