Mini Pizza Bagels

Stay out of the freezer aisle! Next time you want to make yourself or your little ones a perfect after school snack, those frozen pizza bagels just won’t hit the spot like these homemade ones. And trust me – once you (and the kids) taste just how much better these homemade mini pizza bagels are, they’ll be all that are craved!

Plus, all you need to make a batch are mini bagels, Pizza Sauce, shredded mozzarella cheese, and any toppings you’d like. My favorite to toss on them is sliced pepperoni, of course!

Unlike the freezer version of these snacks, these pizza bagels are never stale or lacking in flavor. Plus, since you’re making them at home, you can alter the ratio of sauce and cheese however you’d like! That’s another thing about these homemade mini bagels I love – they’re totally customizable.

While some in the house might like pepperoni slices only, others may want onions or crushed red pepper. Since you’re making these mini bagels at home, you can dress them up or down to suit your pizza preferences.

Now that the whole country is settled into back to school season, you’ll need recipes like this in your back pocket! There’s nothing worse than kids coming home with empty bellies, and all you have are baggies of Goldfish to hand their way. Keep them filled up till dinnertime and SO satisfied with these easy-peasy mini pizza bagels!

They’ll love eating them, and honestly, so will you. This is a kid friendly recipe that I also love munching on! After all, you’re never too old for mini pizza bagels, right?

How to Make Them

Prep. Preheat your oven to 425°F.

Assemble. Arrange the bagel halves on a baking sheet and top each one with a tablespoon of sauce. Sprinkle the cheese over each bagel half and top with your favorite toppings.

Bake. Bake the mini pizza bagels for 10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the bagels are beginning to become crispy around the edges.

Enjoy! Allow the mini pizza bagels to cool for a few moments after baking – no one likes a burned mouth! Then, sprinkle with Italian seasoning if you’d like, and enjoy.

We like to sprinkle them with grated parmesan cheese from the can (Shakey cheese!) and this homemade Pizza Seasoning!

How long will mini pizza bagels stay fresh?

In an airtight container in the refrigerator, these tasty snacks will stay fresh for about 3 days. To reheat them, I recommend popping them back into the oven or an air fryer for just a few moments. I do NOT recommend using the microwave to reheat them, as that will end up zapping the texture completely out of the bagel.

Do I have to use homemade pizza sauce?

If you want these to have even more of that delicious homemade taste, then I encourage you to check out my super simple No Cook Pizza Sauce Recipe. It’s got tons of flavor and always yields the most mouthwatering results! However, if you’re a parent with not a lot of time (especially in these hectic back to school months), then go ahead and just use a store-bought jar. Chances are, your kids will think these mini pizza bagels are scrumptious no matter what.

Can I freeze mini pizza bagels?

You sure can! And guess what? They’re still way better than the store-bought stuff, even when they’ve been frozen! To freeze these mini pizza bagels, simply bake them, then allow them to reach room temperature. Package them up nicely in an airtight container and keep them in the freezer for up to 3 months, or until you’re ready to dig in! When you’re ready to enjoy them, preheat the oven to 425°F and bake the bagels for about 12-14 minutes.
