Espresso martinis are a dime a dozen—I mean, I love an espresso martini, but you can get those anywhere, any time of year. A pumpkin spice espresso martini, though? Now that’s something special!

If you’re looking for a signature fall cocktail, make this one your calling card. It’s got those warm, cozy pumpkin spices, it’s rich and creamy without being heavy (I don’t know about you, but I can’t do heavy cream in a cocktail—too much!), and it’s the perfect drink to serve for fall gatherings or cozy nights in.

This pumpkin spice espresso martini recipe is super simple to make, but the result tastes like something you’d order at your favorite cocktail bar. Just make sure you clear out your schedule for the evening because this is a drink you’ll want to slooooowly sip and savor!

Tips for Making a Pumpkin Spice Espresso Martini

This recipe is easy, but here are a few tips to make sure it turns out perfect!

  • Don’t skip the shaking. If you don’t have a cocktail shaker, you can use a mason jar with a tight-fitting lid to shake the ingredients together. But this isn’t a cocktail that you can get away with stirring—it won’t be frothy and odds are, the pumpkin puree won’t be fully incorporated.
  • Chill your espresso or coffee. Yes, hot espresso or coffee would cool down thanks to the ice, but this would also water down your pumpkin spice latte martini and we don’t want that!
  • Adjust the sweetness. If you’d like your pumpkin martini a little bit sweeter, you can add some simple syrup or maple syrup.
  • Have fun with the garnish. I usually use espresso beans or pumpkin seeds, but you could also do a sprinkle of pumpkin spice on top, a dollop of whipped cream, or a drizzle of caramel sauce. Rimming the the martini glass with crushed gingersnaps or graham crackers would also be fun.
