Apple Cider Margarita
This delicious Apple Cider Margarita recipe features apple cider, tequila, lime juice and more! It’s sweet, spiced, tangy, and has the perfect balance of zesty and cozy flavors. If you’re ready for fall but not ready to give up your summery margaritas, this is the recipe for you!
Apple Cider Margaritas
This apple cider margarita recipe really is the best of both worlds! All of the cozy fall vibes you love about apple cider mix perfectly with tangy, tequila-y margarita ingredients. This autumnal margarita is exceptionally smooth and makes for easy sipping. Serve a batch of these margaritas on Halloween or Thanksgiving and watch them disappear. They’re so fun and unique!
To make apple margaritas, you’ll need a handful of simple ingredients. Apple cider, tequila, grand marnier, lime juice and honey come together to create an incredible medley of flavors. It’s sweet, warm, tangy and just boozy enough to get the party started! With that being said, you could always make it a double… It’s your margarita, make it as strong or as tame as you’d like.
I love making cocktails at home for a few reasons. For starters, I don’t have to overspend! It’s always so much cheaper to be your own mixologist. Plus, I can add my own little touches like a sugar rim (which is SO GOOD with this recipe) without having to make any requests to a bartender. This recipe is also incredibly easy – just shake it all up, pour over ice and enjoy!
How to Make an Apple Cider Margarita
Rim your glasses, shake up the cocktail, pour, and enjoy. Repeat as needed!
- Shake it up. Add the apple cider, tequila, grand marnier, lime juice and honey into a cocktail shaker. Shake until combined.
- Rim the glasses. Rub the rim of each glass with lime juice. Dip into sugar.
- Pour and enjoy. Add ice to each glass and pour the margarita over the ice. Garnish with limes, apples, and cinnamon sticks. Cheers!
Ingredients in Apple Cider Margarita
Here’s what you’ll need in order to make the very best apple cider margaritas. Thanksgiving just got so much more fun!
- Apple Cider – Make your own slow cooker apple cider to really send these margaritas over the top!
- Tequila – Try to use a good middle of the road or high quality tequila.
- Grand Marnier – This adds a subtle bitter orange taste that perfectly compliments the other ingredients.
- Lime Juice – For the very best flavor, try to use freshly squeezed lime juice as opposed to the bottled alternative.
- Honey – You can use caster sugar or maple syrup to sweeten the margaritas with instead if you’d like. If you do use honey, try to use a good quality organic one for the best flavor.
- Brown Sugar – This is an optional ingredient but I highly encourage using it to rim your glasses! It adds a touch of sweetness and really does wonders for the presentation value. Also, what’s a margarita without a rimmed glass?!
- Garnishes – Lime slices, apple slices and cinnamon sticks are all great for serving.
What tequila is best for margaritas?
I recommend using a good quality (or middle of the road) blanco tequila. If you buy a super cheap bottle, you may not get the best tasting results. With that being said, since the tequila is being mixed with so many other ingredients, you don’t need a very expensive bottle either.
If you have any tequila left over, use it to make more margaritas! Some of my favorites include Spicy Roasted Pineapple Margaritas, Prickly Pear Margaritas, Spicy Jalapeño Margaritas and Bloody Margaritas.
