Christmas Charcuterie Board

It’s entertaining season, and I can’t think of a better way to feed a small crowd on Christmas Eve than with this charcuterie board! It’s fun, festive, and has a little something for everybody. I love sipping on a glass of wine and watching Christmas movies with family and friends during the holiday season. Whether it’s the night before Christmas or a party leading up to it, it’s always fun to celebrate!

If you didn’t already know, I’m such a board lover. Any time I have the chance to host a party, you can bet there will be some sort of themed charcuterie board for everyone to peruse! I even wrote a cookbook about making all of the best dessert boards. So you can safely assume that I have a ton of fun with my charcuterie creations at Christmastime!

Pictured in this post is my ultimate Christmas charcuterie board creation. Feel free to assemble yours exactly as I have pictured, or have a little creative liberty with your meats and cheeses. I’d love to hear from you in the comments about what worked best for you! As long as you have some salami, proscuitto, brie and goat cheese, it’ll be a hit at any Christmas party you have planned.

How to Make a Christmas Charcuterie Board

Scroll down to the recipe card to see more detailed info about ingredients and instructions!

  1. Pick the right board. Admittedly, I got pretty lucky when I found this pretty Christmas tree board! If you don’t already have a good board on hand, check online or your local Target/Walmart/HomeGoods for a big enough board to fit lots of options. You don’t want to limit yourself with a small board.
  2. Choose the right ingredients. Scroll on down to the recipe card to see all of my favorite options. You want a few more festive flavors like cranberries or pomegranate seeds on the board to really give it that Christmas flair.
  3. Add fun touches. Creating a brie rind star on the top of the tree is a must! Also, fresh rosemary sprigs surrounding the board gives it a nice aroma and pop of green color.

How much meat and cheese do I need?

First off, you’ll need a head count of how many people you’re serving. Once you’ve got that number you can plan accordingly. Here are just a few rules of thumb when it comes to serving a charcuterie board:

  • Meats – It’s best to offer a variety of textures and flavors, like salami and proscuitto. Plan for 3-4 slices of meat per person, minimum.
  • Cheese – You’ll need about the same amount of cheese as you have meat. For this Christmas board, I have brie, cheddar, and goat cheese balls that have been rolled in nuts and cranberries.
  • Crackers – Pick your favorite! Just make sure that there are enough for everyone to eat a cracker with their cheese if they so choose.
  • Fruit – Fresh pomegranate seeds would add a fun pop of color and fresh flavor while still being true to the theme.
  • Nuts – I love to add nuts to my board! I almost always sprinkle them around. Consider adding some candied pecans for a little sweetness.
