Everything Bagel Spice Blend
Salt and spice and everything nice, that’s what this blend is made of. Everything Bagel Spice Blend is a mixture of everything you find topping an Everything bagel. It’s easy to make and tastes great on just about….everything.
I’m not a big bagel fan…all the dough and carbs is usually a turn off for me, however, if I get a whiff of an Everything Bagel within sniffing distance…all bets are off. And, let me warn you, I’ll try to share to shave off some of the regret later but I will give you the bottom half of the bagel. The side without all the wonderful, tastebud popping flavor that’s sprinkled all over the top half of the bagel. That side is all mine. And if you don’t want the short end of the
stick bagel….then I’ll just eat both halves and call it a day.
If you’re not familiar with an Everything Bagel, let me clue you in…it’s a plain bagel baked in it’s traditional form but topped with a lovely Everything Bagel Spice Blend that’s loaded with garlic, onion, poppyseed, sesame seeds and big kernels of salt. It makes your tastebuds sing and your breath a little….well, you’ll need a toothbrush or some mints after this one. I wanted to recreate that spice blend to put on other things in my life that need to be a little spiced up…like homemade white bread and roasted chicken.
It works wonders on a plain, normally bland, chicken breast and when baked until crispy that skin becomes a snack of it’s own. Just a little suggestion.
Everything Bagel Spice Blend takes just a minute to whip together and this recipe makes plenty for all your spicing needs. Store it in an airtight container to have on hand to sprinkle a little savory on everything from your morning avocado toast to your tuna salad sandwich. It’s simply divine.
