Elevate your next breakfast or brunch with a slice of Burrata Toast! This quick and easy recipe is so easy to customize just about any way you’d like. Sorry, avocado toast… there’s a new toast that has my heart. This stuff is the BEST!

Four slices of burrata toast are placed on a white platter.

I love avocado toast, ricotta toast, and virtually any other toast that I can slap together first thing in the morning. I think this burrata toast might just be my new favorite recipe for those special brunch mornings when I have friends over!

Burrata is a smooth cheese that tastes buttery and pretty neutral. So, that means we can dress it up any way we like! I love serving this toast for brunch and setting up a toppings bar. That way, everyone can grab whatever toppings they want (I have a lot of recommendations listed below).

You can go savory, sweet, fruity, whatever! As long as you have some sturdy white bread and enough burrata to go around, you’ll be the host with the most. Oh… and I have it on good authority that this toast pairs fabulously with a bubbly mimosa.

The ingredients for burrata toast are spread out.

Key Ingredients

Let’s take a quick look at that short and sweet shopping list!

  • Bread – I love using sourdough bread for this toast recipe! However, really any sturdy white bread will get the job done. Head to your local grocery store bakery and see what bread looks the best to you!
  • Burrata – Let it adjust to room temperature before you use it. That way it’ll be easy to spread onto the toast.

Toppings for Burrata Toast

Rule number one – get creative! If you think of something tasty that’s not on this list, try it! Just make sure you comment below and let me know what worked for you.

  • Avocados – If you want to make an avocado-burrata toast hybrid, go for it! Some fresh avocado slices placed on top of the smooth burrata with some lemon juice and cracked black pepper is pretty fabulous.
  • Fruits and Berries – Grapefruit, strawberries, blackberries, raspberries… the possibilities are pretty endless here. Feel free to sweeten things up with a drizzle of honey right on top of the berries!
  • Caprese – Add some sliced tomatoes, fresh basil and a drizzle of balsamic reduction for a fun take on a caprese.
  • Roasted tomatoes – There’s something so mouthwatering about some easy oven roasted tomatoes on burrata toast! Add a drizzle of good quality olive oil on top with flaky sea salt and freshly cracked black pepper for the most amazing flavor.

How to Make Burrata Toast

In just a few minutes, you’ll have the most amazing breakfast treat! Scroll down to the recipe card for more exact step by step instructions.

  1. Toast. Toast your bread until it’s golden brown and crisp. Of course, everyone likes their bread toasted to different degrees, so toast to your personal liking.
  2. Prepare the burrata. Remember that it’ll need to be adjusted to room temperature before you use it! Pat the burrata dry and break it open with a fork or knife.
  3. Assemble. Spread the burrata all over your toast. Top with any toppings that sounds good to you, and enjoy right away!

PRO TIP: Don’t try to make this toast ahead of time! The longer it sits, you risk the bread getting soggy. It’s best to enjoy burrata toast as soon as it’s assembled and ready to go.
