When the weather heats up, the grill comes out and these easy, flavor-packed Chicken Burgers are always the first thing on the menu. They’re juicy, seasoned just right, and perfect for a simple summer lunch or dinner. Whether you’re cooking for your family or hosting a backyard BBQ, grilled chicken burgers are a crowd-pleaser that comes together in minutes!

Why I Love This Recipe
Grilling season is my favorite excuse to skip the oven, and these chicken burgers are exactly why. They’re quick to prep, super versatile with toppings and sides, and so much lighter than traditional beef burgers without sacrificing flavor.
I love how the mayo keeps them juicy, and the herbs and spices bring just the right amount of zestyness. Plus, you can toss them on the grill or fry them up in a skillet. No fuss!
Ingredients For the Best Chicken Burger
Here’s what you need to whip up these delicious chicken burgers.
- Ground chicken – Lean, light, and the perfect base. Want to mix it up? Try ground turkey or ground pork for a similar texture and flavor.
- Mayonnaise – Mayo keeps the burgers moist and tender while adding a pleasant tanginess. Greek yogurt works well if you want a lighter swap with a sharper flavor.
- Fresh parsley – Fresh parsley adds a much needed lightness to the burger. If you don’t have parsley, try fresh basil or fresh cilantro.
- Garlic – For bold flavor, use fresh garlic cloves finely minced. Can’t do fresh? Add extra garlic powder instead.
- Onion powder – For that subtle savory note, I love a sprinkle of onion powder. You can swap in grated onion if you like a bit more bite.
- Smoked paprika – This gives a hint of smoky depth. Regular paprika works too, but smoked is totally worth it especially if you like that fresh from the grill flavor! Don’t forget the kosher salt and black pepper.
- Olive oil – Olive oil prevent sticking on the grill or in the skillet. Avocado oil or your favorite neutral oil is a great substitute.
- Buns and toppings – We love a toasted brioche bun with lettuce, tomato, and red onion. Or go low-carb with lettuce wraps!

How to Make Chicken Burgers
These grilled chicken burgers come together fast with just a few simple steps:
- Mix it up – Combine ground chicken, mayo, herbs, and seasonings in a medium bowl. Be careful to not over mix, just blend until everything comes together.
- Shape the patties – Form into four even burgers and press a slight dent in the center with your thumb or the back of a spoon (this helps them cook evenly and not puff up in the center).
- Chill – Pop the patties in the fridge for 30 minutes or longer to firm them up. This helps them hold together on the grill.
- Preheat your grill or skillet – I like to cook my burgers over medium high heat. This gives them a great char on the outside keeping the juices inside.
- Cook – Brush the burgers with oil and cook for 5-6 minutes per side, or until golden and the internal temp hits 165°F. Don’t press down with a spatula while cooking, keep those juices inside!
- Serve – Load them up with your favorite toppings and dig in.

How to Store Leftovers
Leftover chicken burgers are perfect for quick meals during the week.
- Fridge: Store in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
- Freezer: Freeze cooked burgers between sheets of parchment paper. Thaw overnight in the fridge and reheat in a skillet or microwave.
- Reheating: Warm in a skillet over low heat or microwave in 30-second intervals until heated through.
