These days, I simply won’t make steak without The Very Best Steak Marinade. There’s just no point! Once you’ve tried steak marinated in this medley of bold, mouthwatering ingredients, I’m sure you’ll be on the same page. After you try this marinade, steak prepared any other way just doesn’t taste as flavorful.

Steak Marinade

This steak marinade consists of 13 bold and mouthwatering ingredients. I’ve been marinating and grilling steaks for year, and you guys, this measured selection of 13 ingredients is my masterpiece!

After years of trying new things and sampling new flavors, I’ve landed on what I believe to be truly the BEST steak marinade ever. It’s deliciously rich with both savory and sweet flavors that compliment steak in a way that I’ve just never had before! If you also love complex flavors that add depth to your steak, then this is the recipe for you.

Let’s take a minute to talk more specifically about the ingredients in this marinade. To sweeten things up, I have honey and brown sugar. I recommend using local raw organic honey for the best results – the stuff in the little plastic bear is so artificial tasting!

To give the marinade the tang that steak really needs, there’s worcestershire sauce and lemon juice and zest. Those two ingredients alone will have you drooling! There are other ingredients like soy sauce, dijon mustard, and herbs in there too that add even more depth. Oh, and you can’t forget the smoked paprika! It’s my secret ingredient at creating a delicate smoky flavor that makes the steak SO downright delicious.

Quite honestly, you could probably even marinate tofu in this mix if you’re trying to cut down on meat. The tofu might not necessarily be as tasty as steak (in my opinion) but this marinade will certainly help you get that steak fix! It’s got all the flavors that every steak should have.

How to Make Steak Marinade

This steak marinade is SO easy to make! You’re going to love how simple it is to seriously elevate your steaks from now on!

  1. Whisk. In a large bowl, whisk together the olive oil, vinegar, soy sauce, honey, brown sugar, worcestershire sauce, lemon juice, lemon zest, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, paprika, dijon, salt and pepper until combined.
  2. Pour and seal. Place the steak in a large zip top bag and place the bag in a large bowl to prevent leaking. Pour the marinade over the steak and seal the bag pressing out as much air as possible.
  3. Marinde. Transfer the steak to the refrigerator and marinade for 1-24 hours. Keep in mind that the longer you allow the steak to marinate, the more flavorful it will be!
  4. Enjoy! Remove the steak from the bag and cook as desired.

Which Cuts of Steak to Use

Guess what? This marinade works for any and all cuts of steak! Whether it’s a ribeye, a sirloin or a flat iron, you’re going to love the way this marinade elevates that cut. In fact, you could probably use this marinade with cuts of meat like chicken breasts, too!

This marinade is so complimentary to grilled steak, I can’t imagine it not being equally as delicious on other cuts of grilled meat as well. Sometimes we’ll even give our filet mignon a little dunk before cooking! So tender, juicy and melt in your mouth amazing.

How Long To Marinade Steaks

In an airtight container in the refrigerator, you can marinate steak for up to 24 hours with this recipe. I wouldn’t recommend letting it sit nay longer than that. Additionally, you’ll want to try and make this marinade as soon as you’re ready to soak meat with it, not too early ahead of time!

Sounds good, but I don’t like Worcestershire Sauce, I would add some fish sauce instead or an anchovy.
