The happiest cocktail of the season, Sparkling Apple Cider Sangria is like autumn in a glass. Light and refreshing, it’s loaded with fresh apple flavor, tart cranberries and bright citrus for an easy beverage fantastic for every occasion.
I just got back from San Francisco on Thursday and am finally rolling back into my routine. It was CRAZY hot out there….as in, they were having a heatwave at the end of October. If you live out in the Cali area….I’m trying to send some of our cool Northeastern winds your way. Schnikeys was it boiling and, of course, I packed a suitcase full of long-sleeved shirts and jeans because I’ve got fall on my mind. I mean, seriously….I’ve been pumpkin spicing and apple cider-ing for well over two months now. It’s time for the rest of the country to join me. Who’s in?
I am still suffering from a bit of jet lag (yes, from a short three day trip….I’m totally dying here) and recovering from some dehydration issues so the work this weekend was a bit slow. Plus….rain. I mean, seriously, who can work really HARD when it’s Sunday….and it’s raining. So, I threw together one of my favorite fall drinks, Sparkling Apple Cider Sangria and snapped some pictures for y’all because I’ve been keeping this one to myself for waaaaay too long. I shared this one a couple weeks ago on Fox 29 Good Day Philadelphia before I jumped on a plane to head out west. It’s quick, refreshing and perfect for a pre-trick or treating libation.
My favorite homemade apple cider is stirred together with a little Grand Marnier, fresh apples, oranges and cranberries before being topped off with a bit of bubbly. Sparking Apple Cider Sangria couldn’t be simpler to whip up. And it’s a staple at many of the holiday parties I host. Starting with Halloween….we don’t really have a Halloween party, it’s more of a send off for parents before we head out with the kids. Because isn’t it much more tolerable to go door to door in the neighborhood begging for candy when you have a cocktail in hand? And my Sparkling Apple Cider Sangria goes fantastically with this Hot Crab Dip or a pile of Everything Spiced Parmesan Crisps.
And if you’re not a champagne fan or a sangria fan then I have something equally amazing….maybe even more sophisticated, if I do say so myself. This Apple Cider Gin Fizz is fun to make (that froth is super fun to create) and totally tasty…..brown sugar rim, anyone?
