Chick-fil-A Cool Wrap

Some Chick-fil-A foods are not worth trying to make at home because you’re just never going to match the original. The OG sandwich with crispy fried chicken? Never! But the Chick-fil-A Cool Wrap? This is one you can TOTALLY make yourself. It’s so easy, it’s practically effortless.

Not only does this copycat Chick-fil-A Cool Wrap taste just as amazing—if not moreso—than the original, but it’s also a healthy lunch since it’s packed with veggies, whole grains from the wrap, and protein thanks to the chicken and cheese.

One of the things I love the most about this recipe is that it’s excellent for meal prep lunches since they keep well in the fridge. Make a bunch for work and school lunches on Sunday night and grab them on your way out the door for the next several days.

As a bonus, this recipe is also a fantastic way to put leftovers to use—or even that rotisserie chicken you picked up at Costco because you just couldn’t pass up a good deal. Just shred or slice it up and use it in your Cool Wrap. Boom!

Ingredients for Chick-fil-A Cool Wrap

Ingredients for Chick-fil-A Cool Wraps

The ingredient list for these wraps is short, which is why they’re great for making at home!

  • Cooked Chicken Breast – The Chick-fil-A Cool Wrap is made with grilled chicken breast, but when you’re making it yourself, you can use The Best Oven Baked Chicken Breast, Lemon Pepper Chicken, or even BBQ Chicken Breasts. Whatever you like!
  • Lettuce – Green leaf lettuce or romaine; you want something with crunch as opposed to wilt-y, tender spring greens.
  • Carrot – Optional, but I love it for extra crunch and flavor. A bag of pre-shredded carrots is perfect and will save you work.
  • Red Cabbage – For color and to up the crispy-crunchy veggie factor even more.
  • Multigrain or Whole Wheat Flatbread Wraps – Some brands are more pliable than others; if yours seem like they’ll tear when rolled, you can warm them up in a dry skillet set over medium heat to soften them up.
  • Cheese – Shredded Monterey Jack and cheddar cheese, whichever you prefer.

How to Make a Chick-fil-A Cool Wrap

Once you’ve cooked the chicken, it’s just a matter of rolling everything up. Here’s what you’ll need to do.

  1. Season. Add salt and pepper to the chicken if needed. (Depending on how you cooked the chicken, you may not need this!)
  2. Fill. Set the wraps on a clean work surface and top them with the veggies, cheese, and then the chicken.
  3. Roll. Fold the sides of the wrap in, then roll from the bottom to the top.
  4. Enjoy! Cut the wraps in half and serve.

Tips for Making a Chick-fil-A Cool Wrap

  • Make sure the lettuce is dry. Use a salad spinner if you have one and if you don’t, pat it dry with a clean kitchen towel or paper towels. This is especially important if you plan on making these for work or school lunches—the Cool Wraps will get soggy if the lettuce and cabbage are smuggling in extra moisture.
  • Use delicious chicken. Not rubbery chicken! Not bland chicken! And definitely not dry chicken! These wraps are so simple, it’s really all about that chicken—and if the chicken isn’t good, the wraps won’t be either.
  • Don’t overstuff them. While it may be tempting to pack in as much chicken and veggies as possible, overstuffing can make the wraps difficult to fold and impossible to eat.
  • Wrap them tightly. In order to make your Chick-fil-A Cool Wraps dippable, they have to be rolled up tightly, otherwise they’ll just fall apart in your sauce. As you roll them up, use your fingers to push the fillings inward to get a nice, tightly packed roll.

Dipping Sauce Ideas

You’ll notice there’s no mayo or spread in the Chick-fil-A Cool Wrap. This is by design! Cool Wraps are made for dipping. You can use store-bought ranch or another bottled dressing, but if you want to go the extra mile, try one of these:
