Grilled Chicken Tenders with Sweet and Spicy Honey Mustard

Let’s face it – kids are the pickiest eaters on the planet, and that can greatly interfere with what the adults in the house get to enjoy for their meals sometimes. After all, there are only so many picky eater-approved dinners I can handle before I need to shake things up a bit! However, this easy recipe has been a true godsend for me lately. It’s just like chicken nuggets… only so much better! Kids love these chicken tenders, and so do adults. They’re seasoned, grilled, and served with an amazing sweet and spicy sauce.

Speaking of that sauce, the sweet and spicy honey mustard is what really elevates these chicken tenders for me! I think the spicy kick in there definitely helps make these chicken tenders so amazing, especially for us big kids who crave a little spice, right? And don’t worry, I know that many kids out there wouldn’t dream of touching a sauce like this, and that’s why I also love serving these strips with some delicious Homemade Ketchup. No matter which sauce you choose, you’ll be glad you made them instead of using that store-bought stuff that’s full of artificial flavors and preservatives!

From start to finish, grilling these chicken tenders won’t take you over 10 minutes. Yes, really! This recipe truly is the definition of an easy dinner. Oh, and did I mention that the sweet and spicy honey mustard only calls for 4 simple ingredients?! You only need chili garlic sauce, dijon mustard, honey and mayonnaise to whip up what’s sure to be your new favorite sauce. The only real tip I have for the sauce is to use a darker honey that’s organic, as it’ll likely have a much richer honey flavor than the light stuff that comes in the bear! And after all, with a recipe this good, why deny yourself that flavor?

How long will grilled chicken tenders and sweet and spicy honey mustard stay fresh?

Keep in mind that both the chicken tenders and sauce need to be kept in separate airtight containers in the refrigerator for proper storage.

The chicken tenders will stay fresh for about 3 days, and are best reheated in a pan over medium-high heat on the stove. Cook for just a few minutes on each side until they’re heated all the way through. To keep the chicken tenders from drying out, add a little olive or avocado oil to the pan as well.

The sweet and spicy honey mustard will stay fresh for up to a week. Give it a light stir before serving once it’s been refrigerated.
