When I see Dill Dip as part of the party spread, I get pretty excited. Is it weird to get excited about dips? I don’t think so! Especially not when Dill Dip can take any veggie and turn it into a crazy flavorful snack.

It’s not just dill that makes this creamy concoction so mouthwatering, either. An array of spices like cayenne pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder make this homemade dip so much better than anything you could buy in a plastic container.

Do I hate the store bought stuff? Definitely not. Would I ever serve it over this homemade recipe? Again, definitely not! Homemade Dill Dip is so much richer with flavor and has none of the preservatives you’d find on the back of a store bought container.

As always, one of the best parts about making something at home versus buying a factory made version is that you can control exactly what goes into it. You can alter the spices and dill itself to your liking!

How to Make It

Combine the ingredients, let it chill, and serve. It’s seriously that simple!

Combine until smooth. In a small bowl, stir together the yogurt, mayonnaise, apple cider vinegar, dill, onion powder, garlic powder, cayenne, salt and pepper until smooth.

Chill the dip. Cover and chill for 30 minutes or up to 48 hours.

Serve and enjoy! Uncover and serve with fresh veggies, crackers or chips.

How long will Homemade Dill Dip stay fresh?

In an airtight container in the fridge, Homemade Dill Dip will stay fresh for up to 4 days. Make sure the container is truly airtight, or a film will form on top. Also, you’ll want to make sure that if you scoop some dip out, it should only ever be with a clean utensil. If you use a dirty spoon or a dipper, new bacteria will be introduced to the dip that could cause it to spoil.

I don’t recommend freezing this dip.

Can I use dried dill in this dip?

Yes, you can but, because dried dill is more potent, you will use half the amount called for in the recipe. Fresh dill really is the best option that should be featured in this dip recipe. It’s aromatic and freshly flavored, which are the two qualities this dip should have. For best results, seek out some fresh dill for this dip.

Can I make Homemade Dill Dip vegan?

Sure thing! Just swap out the traditional mayonnaise and greek yogurt for plant based alternatives. The rest of the ingredients are already vegan. The consistency and flavor may be a bit different, but it’ll still be delicious.

What should I use as dippers?

Veggies are always my first choice! I love bell peppers, cucumbers, and carrots with this dip. Crackers or chips are also tasty options!

Notes

Substitute the fresh dill with 2 tablespoons dried dill, if fresh is not available.
